PURLPAIR SUPPORT

A little help for
your next row.

A shared shaping plan. A separate counter for each piece. Find your next step here.

START HERE

One plan. Two pieces.
Your own pace.

  1. Set up your section

Enter the starting stitch count, the number of rows, and one or two pieces. Row 1 is the start of this section, not necessarily the whole garment.

  2. Add your shaping rules

Set the first shaping row, interval, repetitions (including the first), and total stitches added or removed. Add a new phase when the spacing changes.

  3. Check, then knit

Compare the row list with your own pattern. Tap “Finish row” after knitting the row shown. Each piece keeps its own progress.

GOOD TO KNOW

Pick up where you left off.

Does the counter show the row I have finished?

It shows the next row to work. After finishing row 3, you see row 4. The expected stitch count is the count after completing the displayed row.

Can I correct a count or switch pieces?

“Undo one row” and “Adjust progress” affect only the selected piece. Switching between pieces preserves both counters. A fresh copy reuses the plan with progress set to zero.

What happens when I edit a plan?

Changes to shaping rules, starting stitches, section length or number of pieces require confirmation before resetting progress. Editing only the project name or project notes keeps progress.

PurlPair supports one or two pieces and up to eight sequential shaping phases. Overlapping phases are not supported. You supply your own pattern, stitch techniques and placement.

How do I back up or move my projects?

Open Settings & help → Export backup and choose a location in Files. On another device, choose Restore a backup and select that PurlPair JSON file.

Restoring replaces the entire active library, so export the current library first if you want to keep it. The immediately preceding library is retained locally as a safety copy until the next restore or app deletion. There is no automatic sync.

Exports contain your plans, notes and progress and are not encrypted by PurlPair. Choose a trusted destination. Supported backups are at most 2 MB and contain at most 200 projects.

My saved library or backup cannot be opened. What now?

The app preserves an unreadable saved file and blocks new writes. Use Settings to export it before restoring a known-good backup. Check available storage and that you selected a PurlPair backup. Contact support with the error text; send the file only if you are comfortable sharing its contents.

Where can I change the language or text size?

Tap the globe and language code at the top of the home or counter screen. Choose English, Français or System default. The same control is in Settings & help, and changing language keeps your place.

PurlPair follows your iPhone’s text-size and light/dark settings. “Keep screen awake” is optional and works while the project screen is in the foreground.

Do I need an account? Where do I request a refund?

No PurlPair account is needed. Core features work offline. The App Store edition is a paid download with all features included, no subscription and no in-app purchases.

Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests through Report a Problem. The app uses Apple’s Standard EULA.

STILL NEED A HAND?

Let’s untangle it.

Include your iPhone model, iOS version, PurlPair version and what happened. A short example is usually enough.

Please omit passwords, payment details and full copyrighted patterns. Your projects stay private unless you choose to send them. How support information is handled.
